Valentine is our most recent rescue. She's one of the "Missouri
12" and is now our resident "Spokes-Kees" when we go out to do rescue
awareness or when we just go to the pet store to pick up some more food, treats, or toys.
She's a spunky little thing, with more energy than both of us can seem to get her to
expend on a daily basis! Fortunately, Chessie has taken over some of the
"entertaining" duties, which helps a lot.
Val was a bit shy at first, but, within a few days, began to warm up to us. Now,
she acts like a typical, 5 month-old kees puppy with us, although she is still a bit
reserved with strangers. Time will help this, though.
| When Valentine first arrived at our house, she was a stinky, filthy mess.
A bath was definately the first order of business.... |
 |
| A wet Kees bears an uncanny resemblance to a drowned rat (or perhaps a
drowned nutria <g>), don't you think? |
 |
| Poor Valentine; I can just imagine what she was thinking..."I get
dragged across two states, shoved into crate after crate, separated from my brothers and
sisters, for THIS? Why, I oughta....zzzzzzzz." |
 |
| Well, after a good night's sleep, plus some much needed drying out,
Valentine was ready for her first portrait. What a sweetie! |
 |
Be patient, some more pictures of Valentine (aka "Squirt") will be...
